Design for All? Diversity as the Norm

Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, 2024
Mai 2024 – October 2024

Every individual is unique with different needs and abilities. Yet only rarely does the designed environment match these diverse demands. Especially hard hit are those who deviate from the norm. Whether on grounds of their physical or cognitive limitations, financial resources, language barriers, size, age, or sex, they may find themselves confronted with objects, spaces, or means of transport they cannot use. This exhibition presents contemporary approaches to inclusive design and architecture. At its heart are five international design studios that in their work reflect the diversity of society, with the goal of making our lived environment more accessible. The exhibition itself is conceived as barrier-free and strives to offer access to all.
